skill or expand on a a hobby - visit Slow Poke Farm.
If you need to unwind after a long work week or if you just want to be in a
relaxing atmosphere, I've found the right place for you! It's Slow Poke
Farm located on Highway 480 in Bullitt County Kentucky just nine miles off
Interstate 65.
Life seems to move slower when you travel down the driveway. The first
thing you hear on stepping out of your car is the crowing of the rooster and the
cackling of the hens. Michael, the family's Austrian Shepherd will green
you and make you feel right at home.
You're usually made welcome by Anna or her husband Hill. The Bleemels are
the current residents along with Anna's mother, Mamie Ash. They compose
the third and fourth generations to occupy the farmhouse.
The hen house and yard is one of the favorite places on the farm. They
take me back to memories of another time and place. The men folk gravitate
to the hen house while the ladies are shopping in the two little shops on the
farm.
Whenever you're out their way or you want to take a drive in the country, your
are always welcome!
